We always get to know the people we’re going to sleep with ahead of time. Usually, if it’s somebody we’ve met online, we’ll chat first and then plan to meet in person.
When we first started out, we found it really hard to get from the meeting in person part to the getting naked part. Now that we have a little more experience, it’s much easier for us to just ask if they’d like to move to the bedroom.
When we meet in person, we’ll go for drinks somewhere neutral, and make it clear that there are no expectations. If anybody doesn’t feel comfortable moving beyond drinks, nothing happens. Usually, you can get a good sense of people before meeting them, so there aren’t any surprises.
Honestly, most of the time, we’ll have sex on the first date. It’s usually pretty obvious when there’s good chemistry and when everyone’s horny it’s easy to fall into bed together.
